Barbershop Sessions: Unpacking Masculinities at the United Nations

In September, 2017, United Nations (UN) Secretary-General António Guterres made a strong commitment to gender equity at the UN by launching a system-wide gender parity strategy for its’ work force.

This fall, we’ll be hosting three Barbershop Sessions: opportunities for men to learn about masculinities, the impact of gender stereotypes and why they have a role as gender inclusion champions. These sessions are a start of the larger transformational culture work needed to ensure that the UN, like other institutions and government actors, is bringing everyone along in the efforts to make become more inclusive.
